Transcendentalism: General Significance:
There is an essential truth in nature. Order, chaos...what are these things. The autumn leaves swirl to the ground in a flurry of motion and color, with no predictable end. Yet every year the cycle begins anew. How can white exist without black? It cannot. I could not concieve the notion of a high-up man, a white, shining man, smiling and laughing and protecting the people. But the earth-mother will always be there, with her cool moss and her warm earth. I have never found occasion to pray--simply walking in the forest is enough.
I did not know that something like that would spew forth from my fingers this night.
...does this mean that I am a hippie?
