Adsense II
Yes, good. Frankly part of my reason for the previous post was to see if we still retained our sense.
But!
I admit that in these times of college and no job yet, I jump at anything that promises free money. Of course, the readership (all 4 of you, or 6 on a good day) would not make it a viable choice. However, it depends on what type of stuff they do. If it can be reversed, I'm tempted to try it. Imagine this: The ad doesn't record IP addresses. I spend an hour a day clicking on the ad. I make money. It's tantalizing, to be sure.

Adsense
Today blogger asked me if I would like to place ads on the side of my blog. Should I do it? What do you think?

All my stuff
Somebody REALLY got pwned.
I took a picture of myself so that I could remember what I looked like before my haircut.
Free 30-card Magic deck that I got at the front desk downstairs. Apparently Wizards just randomly shipped a few boxes of these and said "pass these out."
Discarded box tower from packings.
Picture to showcase my bruising from the frisbee. This is a few days after it was at its worst point.
My zombie-frisbee attack shirt. I was really weak that night from loss of blood.
Also my blood towel.
My room!
Big closet. It's like 5x5.
My sweet 'Cube and 'fridge setup.
Desk area
My door this year. Note that Changis Khan has returned. The long comic is a Chick (tm) Christian pamphlet that talks about how a girl killed herself after her Rogue died and how DnD prepares you to become a witch.
Yes, I brought my Scattante. It's already below freezing outside, so I don't think I'll be able to ride it for a while.
After only two weeks you can see that my table is not quite strong enough to shoulder the weight of a TV and a fridge.

Hark! A post!
me: there are several hot chickz in my honors class though
hot in many ways
david: like they play pokemon while sitting in trees and listening to jazz classics?
and they have huge knockers?
There are many things I have to tell you. MANY things!
First of all, I hope to God and Apollo that no one from my dorm is reading this. I don't know how they would have gotten hold of it anyway.
So I moved in on the 18th, Friday. It was (and still is) strange to note all the logistical things that Central does differently from Eastern, and how some are much better and some are much worse. It's like when you play a game that has a good menu system and then you play another one that has terrible menu screens. The question is, of course, what the hell are they doing? Do they even PAY ATTENTION to other games, or in this case, other colleges? Really weird and interesting, but unfortunately mainly frustrating. The dining here is confusing--there is one place that only does lunch, one that only does lunch but only does breakfast on the weekends, a regular place (that closes at 7) and the most reliable place which is open from the afternoon to 11pm. That will serve as just one example of how frustrating and stupid it seems that state colleges do not have standardized logistical practices.
Anyhow, I have a single room this year. I know! I should give you teh piczorx.
....AAAAAAND I will when I figure out exactly where my camera cord is and how it works.
Suffice to say that it is awesome to have my own space for retreat at the end of the day.
Anyhow, we got here and we spent a lot of time moving stuff into the room, getting checked in, meeting the incidentally present staff, that sort of thing. On Saturday we (Charlie and Janice and I) made our big trip to Spokane to buy me things that I (might) need to be reasonably equipped for the school year. They finally left late Saturday afternoon, and I was able to begin making my new life in earnest. There were quite a few orientation things in the days leading up to the 23rd (first day of classes) and I ended up skipping most of them because they were stupid or unnecessary for me. My room is pretty much set up now, though there are still some things that need to find their place. Also, I don't have many posters up because we have brick walls here and they are huge Nazis about what type of adhesives you use. I can use either blue painter's tape or expensive 3M strips, so I don't have much up at this point. This weekend I am hoping to get some stuff up and then I can has pictures for you guys.
People: I'm going to be honest here--the dorm this year is a mixed bag. There are a few people that I REALLY like, some I really DON'T like, and a few that are either neutral or have potential. This is in opposition to last year, where the neutrals and potentials were balanced out by John, Justine, Travis, and Owen especially and also Ben (you may see my previous post for more info about them). Here my CA (RA) Derek is pretty cool: he is a gamer and fun to talk to most of the time but is a little weird and I don't feel he is as open with me as I am with him. Also he is too optimistic for my taste. I will detail others in a later post.
A major event that happened in the first week concerns a girl that lives two doors down from me. She is a flautist and oboist (and several other -ists: fiddle, saxophone, maso (just kidding about that one(I hope...))). We were both (or at least I was) really attracted to each other from the start and I kind of pwned up that metagame, so I'm a little proud of myself. The situation quickly became really deep and pretty fucked up and I'm not going to go into detail here. Suffice to say that I have once again escaped from the clutches of chaos and irrationality unscathed, though whether that reality hurts more than its alternate I know not. Actually it definitely hurts less :)
Classes: Here they are.
Conducting (3 cr.): I have already made reference to my conducting teacher, Dr. Gomez. He is basically like the 13th god of the Olympic pantheon, by which I mean that he is fantastic. He is really into quantum physics and believes that all time happened, will happen, and is happening simultaneously and he believes that alternate realities of every possibility can be perceived through dreams and other means. Also he has witnessed telekinesis. He is super cool and hard-driving, which is awesome. I'm pretty good at conducting so that helps too.
Ear training (0 cr.): I am taking this class for no credit. Dr. Gomez teaches this class, so you know why I am doing it. We are learning fixed do, where C is always do (so if you sing something in the key of G, you start on sol). He makes us use a 440 tuning fork to get our notes and turns the lights off and makes us sing every interval in the major scale. It's really hard but it is really expanding my mind and my ear. I started this class on Tuesday and I will have to work pretty hard for it.
Music History I (5 cr.): I love music theory and I love music history. The professor is really nice and lots of fun, and very knowledgeable. I am doing an Honors college extension for this course. It adds 2 credits and expands a small library project into a medium research paper on ancient Greek music theory (I did this voluntarily). I am very excited for this as well.
Transfer Honors seminar (4): Dr. Dana Elder teaches this class. I have referenced him before but I shall not link you. He is very smart and his speech tends to take a metaphysical twist. Everyone in this class is a transfer honors student (obviously). There are some cool guys and some very attractive women too. Unfortunately, we do not know each other very well, so that part will be hard. We are currently reading Aristotle. That part is also hard.
Voice Class (1 cr.): I call this class "voice for noobs." It is basically an introduction to singing and using the voice, which I did during my second two quarters last year. Instructor is a grad student and it pretty fun.
Concert choir (1 cr.): This is my large ensemble. I call it "choir for noobs." It is exactly that. Great because I never ever will have to practice (same for the voice class).
Intro to Education (3 cr.): This class...is actually not bad. It meets only once a week, from 4-7 on Wednesday, which happens to be my heaviest class day (I call it "the day of pwnage" because I have about 8 hours of classes that go until 7 at night). The instructor is a pretty cool guy and he really gets things done. The class would be a lot more tedious and boring without him.
Piano lessons: I believe you know (in a secondhand online sense) my piano teacher Kendall. She is extremely awesome. Not only does she teach me piano. She also plays contemporary improvised piano music and she CAN PLAY THE THEREMIN!!!!!!!!! She also has perfect pitch. She is an all-around extremely cool person and she is the advisor for my DnD club on campus (detailed below). We actually have a personal relationship, which is a thing that I've never had with any of my music teachers.
Every Friday we must attend music convocation, which is basically an hour of listening to student performances and practicing concert etiquette.
Other things:
EWU Ultimate: My first day out to ultimate, I got nailed in the nose with a frisbee. It hurt a lot and I lost a LOT of blood but it was not broken. It is still incredibly sore. I went back this week but I just couldn't do it. It was too scary with all those discs flying around. Also, I just don't like ball (or any projectile) sports enough to commit at this time.
RPGEWU: This is the name of my DnD club on campus. It is RolePlaying Gamers of Eastern Washington University. We have 17 members, which I am extremely proud of. Basically the idea is that we meet and talk about games a little and hook up with people who want to play games. We have three DnD groups that are getting started and there are also periodical board games like Catan, Arkham Horror, or Munchkin. So far it's been great and it looks like it could actually be pretty big here. I'm MEGA excited about it and it's a good way for me to find people to hang out with.
Okay, that about sums it up. Post your questions or things that I have overlooked. I will try to have pix up this weekend, though I don't have many.
